Welcome to Charleston Surgical Hospital. Thank you for choosing us to provide for your healthcare needs. We want to do everything possible to ensure your comfort and convenience during this important time.
We are pleased to provide you with the following information for your upcoming procedure at our hospital. Our team is here to provide all the information you will need as you prepare for your healthcare procedure with us.
Charleston Surgical Hospital does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, or age in admission, treatment, or participation in its programs, services and activities, or in employment.
What to Expect the Day of Surgery
On the day of surgery, please proceed to the main floor admissions office. After signing in, a member of our admissions team will verify the information and obtain a copy of your driver’s license, Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurance card.
Any co-pays, outstanding deductibles or other amounts due are payable at this time unless arrangements have been made in advance. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If you have made payment arrangements prior to your visit, you will be asked to sign a copy of the Financial Agreement.
Please consider leaving jewelry and other valuables at home.
At least one adult (over the age of 18) must come to the hospital with you and remain on the premises during the entire procedure.
In an effort to protect patients, staff and community, we are limiting patients to one visitor. No visitors under the age 14. Minors may be accompanied by parents (2) or one legal guardian.
All patients, visitors and employees must enter through the main entrance and answer a questionnaire.
If your screening or surgical procedure requires lab, x-rays or other testing prior to your visit, a member of our Pre-Admission Testing department will contact you. A member of this team will also contact you to discuss any other clinical information that we need to know such as allergies, past medical history and current medications.
We understand that insurance benefits can be confusing. As part of the pre-registration process we will discuss your Medicare, Medicaid or other insurance benefits with you. If you have co-pays or deductibles due, we will discuss payment options with you.
If you would like to be considered for financial assistance, please request an application from a member of our admissions team.
Free and convenient parking is available for our patients directly in front of the hospital’s main entrance. Patients can enter this
parking area from Virginia Street. Additional parking is available just past the imaging center, which is located immediately to the left of the main parking lot.
We want to make your time with us as enjoyable as possible. Please call us at (304} 343-4371 if you have any questions prior to your visit.
